Click to expand. Friday Music is a re-issue label run by Joe Reagoso. The releases are mastered by himself (alone), or with Kevin Grey, or with Ron McMaster. Generally, the consensus on the Forum is that the releases mastered with Kevin Grey (and there is some suspicion that KG actually masters these alone) sound very good - the others not so good. I have several Friday Music re-issues, almost all credited to JR and KG, and they range in sound quality from very good to great (IMO). I especially like their Elvis re-issues. I also have their re-issue of 'Going For the One' by Yes, which is credited to JR alone.
I thought it sounded all right. But that album has never sounded absolutely great to my ears, anyways, on LP or CD. So, they may have done the best they could with what they were given. Am awaiting the delivery of the SACD SH mastered, btw. There has also been some speculation on the Forum that Friday Music works from digital sources and not the original master tapes, despite their advertising and promotional claims otherwise - but I don't believe the speculation about the digital sources have ever been concretely established.
You can find the opinions about Friday Music divided here on the Forum, if you search for them - and there are other harsh opinions expressed similar to kwadguy's. I believe JR has posted a brief autobiographical blurb on the web.
It seems he's been in the music business (usually on the business side of the music business) for years. Christina perri divorce. Do a Google search and it should turn up.
